Friday 1st November

Welcome back!

We hope you had a lovely half term!

What a busy first week back we've had! The children have started the week by learning their number bonds to 10 and 20. They have used tens frames and double sided counters to make different number sentences that make 10 and 20. They have played the game Hit the Button on the website Top Marks. If you have access to the internet at home, maybe the children can show you the game and play it over the next few weeks!

In English we have been using our senses to write some poems about Halloween and Bonfire Night! The children thought about what they would be able to see, hear, taste, feel and touch and then turned their ideas into a poem.

In Science we have started an investigation on hygiene. We had 3 pieces of bread, 1 was passed around the children with unwashed hands, 1 was passed round after the children had washed their hands and the final piece was untouched. We then made a prediction of what we think is going to happen to the bread and which piece would change the most. We will observe the changes over the next few days!

We hope you have a great weekend!
