Welcome back and thank you for reading our blog!
After a restful half term break we have returned ready to work hard this term!
In English we have started a new book 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl. We have learnt a model text of a description of Mrs Twit. We have practiced it many times as this help us with our writing.
In maths some children have completed a unit on shapes both 2D and 3D shapes whilst some other children have been working hard on numbers to 50.
In Science we have started a new unit on materials and I was very impressed with the knowledge that the children remembered from their learning in Y1!! I am sure we will learn lots this half term.
In History we have also started a new topic - The Great Fire of London. Typically children at Westfield love learning about this unit of work so I can't wait to share with everyone!
Next Thursday is World book day. We are going to spend the day sharing books, enjoying books and reading lots! If you have a costume at home feel free to wear it- if not please do not spend money simply come dressed comfortably ready to share books! You could even bring in your favourite book!
Have an enjoyable weekend
Mrs Curtis
