Hello and welcome back to the first blog of the new spring term! We hope you had a lovely half term and hopefully we will start enjoying more sunshine this half term.
In maths, we have continued working on multiplication and division. We have been using our knowledge of these to help us to find factor pairs and create factor bugs. Have a go at the game below. https://wordwall.net/resource/29494/factor-quiz Just a reminder that we are still running our times table challenge with the other year 4 class on TT Rockstars. So as much practise at home as possible. The government test is in June and we want as many children as possible to be scoring 25/25!
In writing, we have been looking at setting descriptions. Our model text was a setting description of the icelands from our class novel Polar Bear Explorers' Club. We then started to look at an enchanted forest and uplevel words and write expanded noun phrases about this. We will continue working on this next week too.
On Wednesday, we went to the Turnpike Art Gallery in Leigh. We looked at the art work around the gallery, drew charcoal pictures of the clay sculpture and then the children even made their own clay sculptures. We are looking forward to having these sent back to us once they have dried. Have a look at some of the charcoal drawings below.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday morning.
