Friday 27th March

Good morning and welcome to our blog for this week.

Maths - This week the children have been working on decimals, all the way up to 3 decimal places. Test your decimal knowledge with the game below.

English - This week the children have started a new Talk for Writing topic. They have looked at a model text that is all about persuading someone to visit Alton Towers, they then applied the writing style to their own text about DW Fair. This is building up to them planning and writing their own persuasive leaflet to advertise visiting our ALPS in school.

In preparation we took a trip to the ALPS to gather some tier 2 vocabulary.

Science - An amazing trip to Dean Trust Wigan saw our children entering the world of Harry Potter! All children were super sensible when they used Bunsen burners to find out what spell had been used on Filch's cat! Check out the wonderful pictures below.

Our certificate winner this week is Lincoln, for showing a sensible and mature attitude in recent weeks.

We would just like to thank everyone who managed to attend Parents' Evening this week. It was lovely to chat with you about your child and their progress in Year 5.

REMINDER

Any children who wish to enter the annual EASTER EGG COMPETITION need to bring in their eggs next week on Tuesday 31st March ready to be judged later that morning.

That's all for this week. Have a lovely weekend and we will see you again on Monday.

Don't forget the children break up for the Spring Holiday next week on Thursday 2nd April.
