Hello everyone and welcome back to another year 4 blog.
Its been such a busy week for the children and everyone in school this week with it being parents evening. It was lovely to see so many of you this week and talk to you about the wonderful progress your children are making.
In maths this week we have been looking at equivalent fractions (tricky stuff!) and at adding fractions with the same denominator, some of us then challenged ourselves to convert these to mixed numbers...which is year 5 and 6 stuff!

In writing, the children have continued their work on persuasive writing, we have looked at arguments for and against and writing our own rhetorical questions. We finished the week by writing our own persuasive text on why children should see a dentist.
In reading, the children have completed work around their fiction story 'The Most Magnificent Thing'. This is a lovely story about not giving up and following their dreams, which I think is a lovely message. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmWzt4uf-oE
In Science, we looked at food chains and made our own food chains based on different biomes. https://www.sheppardsoftware.com/science/animals/games/food-chain/
With it being Mothers' Day this weekend, I hope it is a really lovely one for all the Special women and persons in the childrens lives.
I hope you have a great weekend and see you Monday.
