Hello and welcome to year 4's weekly blog! We have had a really busy week this week, in every subject.
In maths, we have been subtracting with exchanging! The children have worked really hard to tackle this hard concept. Have a go at the link and subtract with exchanging. https://www.liveworksheets.com/w/en/math/281115
In writing, the children have moved on to their new Talk for Writing unit. This half term, we are going to be looking at and writing blogs. Their model text was all about how Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered by Howard Carter. The children loved this as it linked back to our Geography unit.
At the start of the week, we had a visitor in school who taught us all about the importance of recycling and which bins we should be using in school. This is going to help our school to me a more environmentally friendly place.
In Geography, we looked at 5 rivers in our world. We went over to the ALPS to find out all about them! Have a look at the pictures below.
Next weeks spellings are words that have the prefix dis
1. disarm
2. discard
3. disappointed
4. disgrace
5. discover
6. discomfort
7. disable
8. disappear
Have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday morning!
