This week has been an exciting week as it has been our Art Week!
The children have been learning about the artist Theodore Major, who used charcoal to depict images of Wigan.
At the beginning of the week the children explored different mediums such as pencil, chalk, oil pastels and charcoal.
The children then explored tone and the pressure used when shading to create light and dark.
We then looked at pictures and talked about the shapes we could see. The children then had a go at sketching the different shapes, using light strokes. We were so impressed with how well the children worked on this. They've really enjoyed art week which will continue into next week as we start to look at our final piece.
Have a great weekend!
