Friday 4th October

Hello again and welcome to another year 4 blog. Again, such another busy week.

In maths, we have been completing more work on our division and multiplication knowledge. It is important that we know our 12 x 12 timetables in year 4, so lots of practise at home. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button is a great website your child already uses in school.

In writing, we have started our new talk for writing unit. 'How to Trap a Dragon' is an instruction text and we have been looking this week at imperative (bossy) verbs, expanded noun phrases and structure of instruction texts.

In History, the children learnt all about the Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses as they were such an important aspect for life if an Ancient Egyptian. Click the link below and see if you can match up the Gods/Goddeses. https://wordwall.net/resource/160259/history/egyptian-gods-and-goddesses-match-up

In PE, the children had a focus on jumping this week. They challenged themselves to see how many certain jumps they could do in a minute circuit! Great work.

Next week spellings are words that have the I sound but spelt y.

1) myth

2) Crypt

3) Hymn

4) Symbol

5) lyric

6) mystery

7) oxygen

8) gym

I hope you all have a nice weekend and hope to see you next week at parents evening.
