Hello and welcome to year 4's FIRST blog of the year! I hope you had a lovely summer holidays and are glad to be back. We have had such a busy first week in year 4.
In maths, we have been learning all about time. We started at looking at on the hour, half past, quarter past and quarter to. We then moved on to looking at minutes in intervals of 5. Have a go at the link below and have a play with the interact clock.

In writing, we have been proof reading work to check for missing capital letters for start of sentences and for proper nouns. We then looked at the correct punctuation to put at the end of sentences.
In science, we looked at the three states of matter. We all went outside to act at solids, liquids and gases. We enjoyed learning the song below to help us to learn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re3_ajB11E0
In history, we have been learning about 3 different important ancient civilisations. The Ancient Sumer, Indus Valley and the Shang Dynasty. All these civilisations happened around the same time as the Ancient Egyptians.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you on Monday morning.
