Friday 9th January

Hello and welcome to our first year blog of 2026!

Well we got straight into the swing of things in year 4.

In writing, the children started to learn their new talk for writing which is called Dragonory by Pie Corbett. This will be our writing focus for the next few weeks and then the children will write their own traditional tale similar to this one.

In maths, the children have been working on time. Converting between minutes, seconds and hours and knowing months of the year and how many days are in which.

In Geography, the children have looked at famous rivers from around the world. One of our river focus this half term is the river Douglas, which is literally a stones throw away from us. If you fancy a walk, take a trip to the Douglas and have a look at what its like and how it compares to other rivers of the world.

Please just a reminder for any Snow Sister books to be returned as soon as possible please, these were handed out before Christmas. Thank you to those that have come back.

Have a super weekend, see you all on Monday morning.
