Friday 9th May

Hello everyone and welcome to our blog. We have had a really busy and lovely week in year 4.

In maths, we have been looking more at decimals. We started the week by comparing and ordering decimals. To do this you look at the ones, and the tenths and the hundredths to decide. Then we moved on to dividing 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10. To do this, you move all the digits one decimal place to the right. Have a go at the worksheet below. https://content.twinkl.co.uk/resource/d5/d3/interactive-pdf-y4-white-rose-maths-spring-block-4-number-decimals-divide-2-digits-by-10-t-m-34128-2_ver_1.pdf?__token__=exp=1746788392~acl=%2Fresource%2Fd5%2Fd3%2Finteractive-pdf-y4-white-rose-maths-spring-block-4-number-decimals-divide-2-digits-by-10-t-m-34128-2_ver_1.pdf%2A~hmac=47584578f8a96feb7f4e84c5acbaab04ede6403e6c3c7eccd9728262cdc9143d

In writing, the children have finished their piece of writing about how the Tidy your Bedroom Machine works. After reading them, I think I definitely need to purchase one for my house and you would love your child to have one too.

In Geography, the children have been learning about all the layers of the Rainforest and how they differ from each other. https://wordwall.net/resource/19484687/geography/tropical-rainforest-layers

It was VE day this week and the children learnt all about why we celebrate it and how important it is to our British history and such an important moment and day to celebrate.

Have a lovely weekend, see you Monday!
