WB 20th October

Hello everyone, and welcome back to the final class blog of this half term.

We have had a fantastic week, building on our learning from last week’s autumn topic and being introduced to some autumnal characters.

To start the week, the children explored pumpkins, using their super strength and fine motor skills to push pegs into them. Later, they drew the pumpkins on a large scale, paying close attention to the colours and details they could see.

The children have had a fantastic time in PE this week, moving and balancing in different ways to improve their coordination and foster a love of healthy exercise.

We have been singing "Incy Wincy Spider" and counting how many legs the spider has. The children used different materials to add the correct number of legs or to reflect the emotions of Incy Wincy on spider pictures. This activity focused on the children's counting skills as well as their personal, social, and emotional development.

Our book of the week has been Winnie the Witch. In the story, Winnie changes the colours of her cat and her home. To practise our literacy skills, we used some simple science to create different colours just like Winnie, and we retold the story in our own words.

To see more from our week, explore the pictures below.

We’ve really enjoyed getting to know all the children this half term and can’t wait to see them again in the week beginning 3rd November.

Wishing you all a wonderful half term!
