WB 9th February
Hello and welcome to the final Reg 2 blog of this half term.
This week our focus book has been Who’s Hat Is This? by Sharon Katz Cooper. The children have been thinking about the people who help us in our community and discussing the jobs they might like to do when they grow up.
We seem to have lots of future police officers and doctors in Reg 2!
In Maths this week, our focus has been on our number of the week, which is 2. The children have been taking part in a range of activities and games to develop their understanding of the number. They have even been practising writing and tracing the numeral 2.
Reg 2 have loved PE this week. They have been developing their teamwork and sportsmanship skills while playing the game Domes and Dishes using the cones.
During our mindfulness session this week, the children have been thinking about feeling sad and how we can look after ourselves and others when we feel this way. We practised caring for our teddies while listening to our I’m Feeling Blue song.
We have also added Ninja Breathing and Octopus Breathing pages to our Calm Breathing Book, which means we are now more than halfway through creating our very own Alphabreaths book.
Our continuous provision has been packed with many activities that the children enjoy, as well as activities linked to our focus book and number of the week. All of these experiences have been carefully planned to support different areas of learning and development.
