IMPORTANT NOTICES-
Sensory play is so important for a child's learning and development, it is recommended that children should be exposed to opportunities for sensory play as much as possible to let them play and explore. Sensory play has a variety of options you can even try some at home..
Please let us know if there is anything you try at home, or if you would like any ideas to take home with you
We have welcomed 2 new children to our Sunflower group this week, they have settled in brilliantly we are super proud of them
⭐️Stars of the week⭐️
Some of our activities this week 🎨
Small group time
In nursery we promote listening and attention by doing small communication groups with the children, we do this once a day for around 4-6 weeks focusing on the same activity so it gives children the chance to learn the skill/activity. The children gain lots of confidence from these small activities and form strong relationships with both staff and children. This also helps with language skills and turn taking
Activities and skills we are focusing on..
Outdoor play⚽️
Vicky the manager has kindly bought us some wacky warehouse passes to take the children over the course of the month, each week we will be trying to take small groups to play and explore. This also promote physical development and big and small movements
Hall time😁
Cake making🧁
Pizza Making🍕
This week we have enjoyed making our own pizza's, the children showed good interest and was keen to try this activity out. They chose all their own toppings and enjoyed using their senses to explore. The best part was eating them
Snack time⭐️👍
We are promoting self and health care at meal times, and focusing on being independent learners. The children enjoy making their own choices including what to eat, which cutlery they use, and what drink they would like
