Week ending 11th October

Hello and welcome back to our blog of another busy week in Reception.

This week, our text of the week has been 'A New Home For A Pirate'. We enjoyed this story over the week and focused on the beginning, middle and end of the story on different days this week.

We completed lots of lovely activities in continuous provision this week. Have a look at one of our phonics activities. We found golden treasure coins in our sand tray! We used tweezers to pinch out the golden coins, read the sounds and write the sound.

We talked about pirates treasure maps. Lots of us made maps which lead to treasure which we showed with an X marks the spot!

In P.E. this week we used some aparatus. We have been practising our balancing and jumping this half term and this week we put it into practise when jumping off benches. We had to balance and show the rest of the class our favorite type of jump at the end.

We have been continuing to learn our Read Write Inc phonics sounds. Here is us in action writing the sound of the day.

We are always looking for our sounds in our environment. Have a look at some of the creative ways the children made our sounds this week!

We use our laptops to practise with the portal videos. We watch the Fred and Ellie videos and we thoroughly enjoy them. Have a go at home!

In our music lessons, we have been enjoying getting the instruments out. We listen to the beat and play our instruments along in time with the music.

Next week we are talking all about Autumn. Have a look if you can find any Autumn treasures while you are outside at the weekend.

Have a great weekend!
