Welcome to our blog this week. We have really enjoyed working with the text 'What the ladybird heard next' by Julia Donaldson. As the story is based at a farm we have done a lot of work around farm animals. In Literacy we have made sentences, we have created wanted posters for the 2 bad men in the story, Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh. We have written animal descriptions and we made mini books based on the story.
In maths this week we have been learning about doubling numbers. We have also found out about odd and even numbers, we have used the Numberblocks to help us find out and sort the numbers. We have also found out about tangrams and have selected shapes and matched them on a tangram picture.
We have been very creative this week, we have finished half animal pictures of ladybirds and farm animals. We have painted our own farm animal pictures. We looked at the work of an artist and recreated our own versions of the pictures. We created maps of a farm.
In PE we have started to think about Sports Day so we have practised some races. We had lots of fun and did really well.
Our classroom has been full of wonderful activities to help us learn. We have had lots of ladybird and farm animal activities to do. We have developed our skills as well as having lots of fun.
Next week we will be continuing our work with Julia Donaldson books. We will be using the text 'Superworm'. If you would like to listen to the story please use the link below.
Have a lovely weekend.
