Hello and welcome to this weeks blog. What a week it has been! This weeks learning has been all about Autumn. Let's start off by looking at our lovely invitations to play and learn
We developed our Fred talk and read skills this week by using leaves with letter sound son to make cvc words. Here we are saying the sounds and reading the words
We also took our Autumn theme into the Funky Finger area. This week we have been using tweezers, threading and pinching - all great exercises to strengthen our fingers and help us to write
We listened to the story Going On a Leaf Hunt - a little like going on a bear hunt. We explored the sights and sounds of Autumn. We then created our very own leaf person. We watched the story, talked about what happened and then created our own versions by adding features, hair and arms and legs. We used them to create a class display. Don't they look effective?
We have loved exploring in Learning to Learn this week. We have had lots of hands on learning opportunities that have encouraged us to talk and explore alongside our friends. Perfect!
Autumn and the colours have provided us with many learning opportunities in the creative area. We have used watercolours, pastels and collage to represent the changing seasons. We have studied pictures carefully, used a steady hand and explored. We are really proud of everyone's efforts
A big thank you to all those parents who attended our stay and play session. We hoped you enjoyed looking around the classroom as much as the children did showing you around. Take a look at us playing and learning together
Next week we will continue with our theme about Autumn but we will look more in depth at the lovely story Leaf Man. Please click on the link if you would like to listen to it together at home before Monday
