Welcome to the last blog of this year in our reception class. We've had a lovely last week, we have used the book, 'The Girl, the Bear and the Magic Shoes' by Julia Donaldson. We have written about magic shoes we would like to have. We have written words and sentences about different pictures from the story. We have learnt a rhyme about the 'Room on the Broom' story by Julia Donaldson.
In maths, we have continued to practise our number bonds to 10. We have ordered numbers to 10 and practised subitising. We have been practising counting to 30. We have played fast fingers where we have to hold up fingers to match a number.
Using the story, 'The girl, the bear and the magic shoes', we have been colouring and cutting different shoe pictures. We have used collage with lots of glitter to design our own magic shoes. We have drawn pictures with colourful chalks.
We've had lots of other fun activities going on in our classroom this week.
As a treat in our last week in reception class we had a 'Teddy Bear's Picnic', everyone brought a teddy or toy to school and we sat together and had a picnic. We were very lucky the sun was shining and we had a lovely afternoon.
It's been a wonderful year with amazing children that have made us smile every day. We wish the children continued success and happiness in year 1.
We will truly miss them but they have promised to come and say hello to us at the railings between our playgrounds.
Have a fun and safe summer.
