Week ending 20th September

Welcome back to our blog. What a busy week we have had in our class filled with lovely activities and learning opportunities.

Our text of the week was Marvelous Me. The story talks about all of the things that makes the main character 'Alex' special. We have spent the week thinking about the things that make us special and unique. We put our ideas down on huge sheets of paper which we have displayed in our classroom. Stanley said he was really good at running. Amelia said she was great at putting her toys away. Miss Hall said she was really good at singing (she even gave us a performance!!!)

We have been exploring all of the different ways we can write our sounds. This week we have enjoyed using the tablets to practise.

In Phonics, we enjoyed developing our gross and fine motor skills to write our letters.

We thought about all the things we thought were important to us to keep our class and classroom happy and safe. We decided on a class charter which we are going to display in our classroom. We all printed our handprint to show we are all a member of our class. We will post a photograph of our charter up for all to see next week!

In Music we listened to 'Celebration- Kool and the Gang'. We talked about the beat in the music and clapped along. We really enjoyed this song and talked about how it made us feel. Carter said he liked the song because it made him want to clap. Harry showed us he loved it with his amazing dance moves. Ellie said it made her smile.

Next week our text of the week is On the way home. Have a listen over the weekend, ready for Mondays learning!
