Good Afternoon and welcome back to this weeks class blog. What a fabulous week we have had with lots of lovely events ranging from sports day to our very nearly cocooned caterpillars. Have a look at this weeks learning
We started the week off by thinking about the story and what happened at various points of the story. We are still loving learning using our extensive collection of Julia Donaldson books. Have a little peek at the writing we have done. Independently as well
We have also been exploring and categorising animals into those that live on land and those that live under the sea. Here we are exploring the number of legs they have using paint
We have also been developing our creativity in the creative area. We explored clay and the things we can do with it like bending, joining and sculpting. Here are the fish that we created using the undersea creatures from the story of Tiddler as our stimulus
We have also been very busy in the maths area. We have explored number bonds, created patterns using resources we have found in the classroom and generally just being busy using numbers and shapes. Take a look at this weeks fabulous recordings
I was so very proud of each and every one of the children during Sports Day. They laughed, smiled and tried their very best and we all had a great time. Here we are taking part in the races and exploring how to make the parachute work
We have also explored symmetry this week in the creative area. We combined our learning about this along with developing our colour mixing knowledge
Next week we will be exploring the text Tabby McTat. A wonderful story about a cat who lived in the city - this will provide us with lots of opportunities to develop our rhyming, intonation and story telling skills. Please click on the link below if you would like to listen to the story before Monday
Thank you for all of your lovely sunflower updates. It has been lovely to see the progress they are making. Hopefully, fingers crossed, the sun will shine next week and give them a boost.
Have a great weekend
