We've had a lovely week using the text, 'A superhero like you'. It focuses on real life superheroes that help make our lives and our world a better place, we have talked about doctors, nurses, vets, police, fire fighters, carers etc and the children have enjoyed sharing the jobs their parents do to help people. We have written about the different jobs, we have thought about questions we would like to ask people who do these different jobs and we have written what job we might like to do when we are grown up.
In maths this week we have been learning about 'doubles'. We found out that when we have 2 numbers the same, they make a double, we have been rolling dice and saying if it is a double or not a double. We have made double patterns and doubles on our fingers.
In PE we had a lovely lesson doing yoga. We went on a space adventure and did rocket moves around the hall, then tree pose, moon pose, shooting star pose and child pose. We also moved around the hall in a way we think an alien might move.
We've had lots of activities based on all the superheroes around us. Look at some of the things we have been doing.
A little girl in our class brought a pack for us to plant some strawberries. We talked about what the strawberries would need to grow, we said, soil, water, warmth and sun. We have planted the roots and look forward to watching them grow.
We've really enjoyed playing outside in the warm and sunny weather. Spring has definitely arrived!
Next week we will be learning about Springtime. We will be looking at what happens in Spring and the changes in nature.
Have a lovely weekend.
