Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. We are quickly coming to the end of the Spring 2 term and this week has been so very busy. Let's look at some of the lovely invitations to learn we have explored in provision this week
We started the week off by thinking about the super powers each one of us hold and how those individual and very special powers that we posses we can use to help make others life a little easier. Take a look at some of our superhero characteristics
In conjunction with this we have been reading lots of different books to help us learn all about different professions. We have loved dressing up and finding out more about different jobs
We also painted picture of what we thought we might look like if our future career aspirations come true. We added these to our superhero writing and created a fabulous display of our hopes and dreams for the future. Look out for it next week at parents evening
This week has been a very creative week in our classroom. We have been exploring the work of different artists and created our own versions of their work. We looked at photographs to help inspire us and got to work. We are very pleased with our efforts and they look fabulous
We have even managed to incorporate our phonic area into our superhero theme. Who knew there were so many fabulous words that we could read. Keep up the good work everyone!
In Maths this week has been all about doubling. We have been introducing children to the language of doubling and they have done so well. We have been using lots of different resources to help us. We have doubled with our fingers, doubled using a dice, doubled using counters and crayons and even looked at doubles in and around the classroom environment. Here we are in doubling action!
We even thought about the vehicles that are associated with different jobs. We used the Internet to explore them. We then designed our own vehicles. Look at this fabulous example.
Next week we will be focusing on Spring. We will spend time outdoors sketching, creating and looking at nature - we will be going onto the ALPS on Wednesday so please make sure that children have a coat and the correct footwear. We cannot wait to share our findings with you on next weeks blog.
Have a wonderful weekend
