week ending 24th October 2025

Hello and a big welcome back to this, our last weeks blog. This week brings to an end all of our learning about Autumn. This week we have explored the text Leaf Man to help us with our learning. Let's take a look at some of the lovely activities we have engaged with this week to help us with our learning smiley

We started the week off by playing in our newly set up Pumpkin Patch. What a kit this has been in class this week! We have been learning about weighing, using language linked to size, working alongside our friends and taking on different roles such as a customer and shop assistant. Who knew we could learn so much from playing with pumpkins! Here we are in action smiley

In keeping with our text of the week we created our own leaf pictures. In the story we encountered a leaf man, leaf cow, leaf duck and a leaf butterfly. Leaf Man went wherever the wind took him. Here we are with our own interpretations  smiley

Some people even created their own leaf men at home! Look at the lovely examples some of our very creative children made. Fabulous heart

We have also used the theme of leaves in our Funky Finger area this week. We have threaded leaves, made conker snails and lots of other lovely activities to help develop strength in our fingers smiley

And finally, here is a round up of other things we have been doing this week. We have worked together, played together and learned so much. As always, we continue to develop our knowledge of letter sounds. This week in class we have been learning y, z, x and we would like the children to practice these and the other sounds over the holidays.

When we return after the half term we will be focusing on animals and their habitats. We will learn about animals that live in the zoo, under the sea, in our homes and compare and contrast. Our first text of the week will be Jacob O'Reilly wants a pet - a lovely story about a little boy who wants a pet but unfortunately they not the right type of pet for a family home. Have a wonderful restful half term
