Hello and a warm welcome back to this weeks class blog. This week we have been learning using the text On The Way Home. Let's take a little look at some of the invitations to come and play we have explored this week 

We started the week of by creating a story map detailing who Claire met on her way home. This was a great way of encouraging the children to remember and recall the events of the story. Here are our amazing efforts 

We have also been continuing our Read Write Inc journey. We have been learning c k u and b this week. Here we are practising our letter formation - remember to look out for the links on Weduc 

We have also been using different materials to practise our letters. Here we are using coloured sand and our finger! 

We have also been thinking about the characters from the story. We thought about what they might say and then had a go at writing some of the sounds in a speech bubble 

We have also been super creative this week. We have explored observational drawings of flowers and created self portraits. Take a look at our super skills we are very proud of the children's efforts 

We have also been creating houses and maps just like from the story. We designed, talked about, cut and stuck lots of different materials together to create a house. We have made a great display with our efforts and it looks amazing 

In the story Claire walks home and passes lots of different people. We have been thinking about and talking about our journey to school and what we see and who we might see. We have created our own maps detailing our own journey to school 

We have also been enjoying our Learning to Learn time. This is our special time were we can explore and experiment, play alongside others and learn all at the same time. Here we are in action 

In Music this week we have been listening to the Carpenters. We have been talking about the temp of the song we listened to, the mood it created and tried our hardest to identify the instruments played 

Our Think Equal story this week that we use to help us focus and talk about feelings and emotions was all about Our World so it fit perfectly with our learning about world
