Week ending 28th June

Welcome to the blog. This week we have been working with the book 'Tabby McTat' by the author Julia Donaldson. We have been writing about the characters, we have labelled a picture of Tabby Mc Tat and writing about scenes from the story.

In Maths we have been practising our number bonds to 5 and 10, we have looked again at doubling numbers, sorting odd and even numbers. We have also practised 1 more and 1 less and ordered numbers to 10.

In the story, Tabby McTat is a pet cat so we have had lots of activities based around cats and different pets. We have been cutting and gluing cat pictures and looked at photographs of cats and drawn them and then had a go at painting them. We have collaged cats. Our role play tray has been a vets were we have looked after lots of different animals. There have also been lots of other activities in our continuous provision like the water and sand trays, the play dough, funky fingers and more.

Next week is a very short week as the children are only in school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to the 'General Election' and an 'Inset Day'. We will be using the book, 'Charlie Cook's Favourite Book' by Julia Donaldson. If you would like to listen to the story, please click the link below.

Have a lovely weekend.
