Hello back to this weeks class blog. What a wonderful week it has been. Let's have a little look how we have used the lovely text Tabby McTat to help us with our learning 

One of the first things we did this week was to check in on our caterpillars. They have now all formed a chrysalis and we discovered by using the internet they will emerge from it in 10-14 days and become a beautiful butterfly. We cannot wait to see the changes 

This week in our Maths area we have been exploring how shapes can fit inside of each other and used to create new shapes and images. Here we are exploring the properties of shapes and looking at how they fit together 

We also took this new knowledge into the creative area. We looked at a famous artist Kandinsky and used the internet to research him. We found out about his nationality, where he studied and what types of art he created. We then took this knowledge into the creative area and used pastels to create concentric circles and triangle in the style of Kandinsky 

We have also found a love of number bond sin class. We have been listening, practising and mastering our number bonds to five and then to 10. Look at the amazing word the children have produced this week independently. We are so very proud of each and everyone of you! 

We have also been busy learning all about what numbers can be made up from using the stem sentence method. For example 3 + 2 = 5 because 5 is made up of 3 add 2. Here are some of the examples the children have created. What is lovely to see is them going off into provision independently and practising what they have been taught. Amazing achievement 

We have also been creating descriptions about Tabby McTat. We imagined we were telling our friends about this wonderful little tabby cat and had to use as much descriptive language as possible. Take a look at our independent writing as we prepare for Year 1. Keep up the good work everyone I am so very proud
