week ending 28th March 2025
Hello and welcome to our class blog. The weeks are absolutely flying by and we are making the most of the time we have together. Let's start this weeks Spring enhancement off with a look at some of the lovely invitations to come and play we have experienced this week. Enjoy!
We started the week off by looking at spring photographs and writing about what we could see in the pictures. Take a look at our writing it's coming on a treat 
We went outside and looked around at the signs of spring we could see from our playground. We noticed the cherry blossom on the trees, we heard the birds tweeting and children playing and we could feel the sunshine on our faces. We wrote down all of the different things we could see, hear and feel. Great work everyone!
Using the blossom as our inspiration we took to the creative area to create our own blossom pictures. We mixed shades of pink, used our fingers and cotton buds to create dots and added the detail to the bare trees. We used our observational skills really well to make our final picture
We have been using the focus of Spring in the Maths area. We have been looking at different ways we can show numbers for example using dots, our fingers, numerals etc. We have been identifying how may we can see and then adding the correct number of flowers to the vases. Great work.
We also used our Funky Finger area to help us develop our fine motor control. This week we have used pegs, threaded, twisted and hidden chicks inside of eggs and had a pom pom challenge. Great ideas to help us build strong muscles in our fingers and hands
We had an amazing time of the ALPS. We took our magnifiers and looked for signs of spring. We had our story - Smeds and Smoos (Julia Donaldson's texts will be the focus of our learning in the Summer Term) and our snack out in the fresh air. We created individual salt dough prints of leaves, flowers and sticks. We talked and worked alongside our friends and truly enjoyed ourselves
We have loved the sunshine this week especially being able to be outside and learning. Here's a final round up of this weeks learning It never fails to amaze us just how much we can cram into a week.
