Hello and a warm welcome back to this weeks class blog. This week we continue with our theme of animals and we explored everything there is to know about the Farm. Let's have a look at some of the lovely invitations to come and learn we have explored this week
We started the week off by thinking about some of the animals that live on the farm. We then said the sounds out loud and had a go at writing them down. We are gaining in confidence using our Fred Fingers to help us spell out words ![]()
We continued our theme of part and whole in different parts of the classroom this week. We explored how we could piece the different animal parts together to make it whole and we used images from the farm that had been cut up to put back together to make whole again. It was wonderful to see us using the language we learned last week in our independent play ![]()
We continued exploring clay this week as part of our creative learning. We looked at the features of animals that live on the farm and then used clay and tools to add features, textures etc. Take a look at the wonderful week we produced. We are so very proud of our efforts ![]()
This week in our Maths work we have been exploring the composition of the number 4. We have created stampolines to show the different ways we can make 4. Take a look at us in action. If you would like to know more about stampolines here is the link - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08dnngm/numberblocks-series-1-stampolines
We also transferred this knowledge and created 4 using cubes. We looked at and counted the number of ways we can make 4. Here we are in action ![]()
As we continued through the week focusing on the farm we used the Internet and information books to look at how food is produced on the farm. We learned all about how and where milk comes from and how food finds itself on the shelves of our supermarkets. Here are the lists we created of food that is derived from a farm ![]()
In PE this week we have continued the theme of working together and team work. We worked in small teams and passed a quoit backwards and forwards in the line. Here we are showing how it is done ![]()
Next week we will be using the text Rumble In The Jungle. Here is the link should you wish to listen to the story before Monday - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdL7xjfETyo
