Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. It may only be a 4 day week but what a lot of learning we have packed into it. Let's take a look at our learning all about Life cycles
This week we have had some lovely invitations to come and play. We have explored life cycles in continuous provision. Here are some of this weeks learning opportunities
We explored the life cycle of a butterfly. We watched a video on the Internet, talked about it and then used a paper plate to record our learning about the cycles an egg go through before evolving as a butterfly. Take a look at our drawings and ask us to talk about them
We have used loose parts to create images of minibeasts. We looked at photographs, selected resources and then designed our own pictures. Take a look and see if you can guess what we created
We have also been learning about the life cycle of a frog. We ordered images and wrote underneath what was happening in the images. We then shared our learning with our friends
We then took this one step further and looked at an individual section of a frog life cycle, drew pictures and wrote words and sentences independently using our Read Write Inc knowledge. Keep up the good work everyone!
We had such a good time at our Easter Bonnet parade. Thank you to everyone who made a bonnet and for some lovely creative entries. We are so very talented
Here we are displaying proudly our efforts
We have also been checking the progress of our sunflower seeds. We read a lovely story from the Think Equal series and talked about life cycles and growth. We hope that your own sunflowers are growing nicely. It would be lovely to see a photograph of them
And finally, we finish the week off with a wonderful visit from Mrs Patton. She danced, she sang, we used our imaginations and acted out stories. We had such an amazing time. Definitely ended our last week of the Spring term in style
On our return to school in the Summer term we will be using the wonderful Julia Donaldson stories as our inspiration for learning. All of our favourites such as Stickman, Zog and The smartest Giant in town will be used and we will expose the children to lots of lovely new soon to be favourites. I have attached a link to her website. Have a little look over the holidays .
