Hello and welcome to this weeks class blog. This week we have been using the text Charlie Cooks Favourite Book. A fabulous book about a little boy Charlie Cook who reads a book in his favourite chair. However, each character in the book is reading about another character! So this week we have taken a different part of the story every day as the focus for our learning. On Monday we used pirates, on Tuesday we used Goldilocks, on Wednesday we used knights and dragons and on Thursday frogs! Let's look at our invitations to come and play this week
On Monday we explored reading words on gems, we created pirate maps, drew front covers for a pirate book, created Charlie Cook front cover jigsaws and matched lines from the story to the images. What a fabulous day of learning!
On Tuesday we matched the correct items to the right bear, created colour by number Goldilocks and wrote all about the story. Amazing!
On Wednesday it was all about dragons and knights. So we created symmetrical dragon sketches, read words on a dragon game, played knights and dragons ladder game and even managed to create labels on our dragon images. Fabulous!
On Thursday we created a cosy corner in our classroom and took the opportunity to relax and sit and read Julia Donaldson books with our friends. Take a look at us enjoying our stories
We even managed to find some more hidden Gruffalo images in different books. We take being a Gruffalo spotter very seriously! Next week we will be nearing the end of our Julia Donaldson learning and will be using the text Tabby McTat. If you would like to listen to the story before Monday please click on the link below -
Have an amazing weekend
