week ending 5th December 2025

Hello and a warm welcome back to this weeks class blog. We have had a wonderful week packed full of learning. Let's take a little look at the lovely jungle themed learning we have explored this week in class smiley

We started off the week by talking about some of the animals from the story. We decided to use the Internet to find out facts about them. We planned different questions that we wanted to find out the answers to and set to work. We found out so much fabulous information. For example, did you know that a zebra can sleep either standing up or lying down? Nor did we until we discovered that fact. Take a look at some of the information we found smiley

We then took our favourite animal from the story and created a whole class collage. We talked about the colours of the animals, size, shape and where they live. We then added a label to our drawings. Great work everyone!

We also took the time to make our classroom festive. Here we are decorating the tree - a great example of sharing, working together and helping each other smiley

The theme of jungle animals has taken over our creative area this week. We have been lookign at the different skin textures of animals and how we can recreate them using different art materials such as pastels, chalk and pencils. Take a look at some of our very talented artists smiley

Despite the weather taken a turn for the worse we have managed to make time to get outdoors. We took advantage of the windy day and explored colours in the environment. We had a great time shouting out colour names and pop when we managed to pop a bubble smiley

Our Funky Finger area has been really popular this week. We have had a great time strengthening our fingers, making jigsaws and learning how to turn the pieces and see where they fit alongside a whole host of other funky ideas smiley

Next week we will explore the text Arctic Animals. We will discover all about the amazing animals that live in the coldest parts of the world. If you would like to listen to the story before Monday please click on the link below -
