Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. What a short week it has been but oh what a lot of learning we have crammed into it. Let's take a look .....
Firstly take a look at our exciting news that happened over the weekend. We now have butterflies! We need to keep them inside for a week or so and feed them sugary water so they grow strongly and then we can release them. We are so excited
In Maths this week we have been focusing our learning on matching numeral to quantity and writing numbers beyond 10. Tricky but practice makes perfect and our willingness to give it a go just goes to show how we have gained confidence and resilience in our learning during our time in Reception
This week we have bene exploring writing in lots of different ways. We have been mark making on a large scale, writing words and developing our confidence and independence when writing. Take a look at us enjoying learning
We have also been writing independently about the characters from the text Charlie Cooks Favourite Book and what they said in the story. We said the sentences aloud in silly voices, counted the words, discussed finger spaces and capital letters and then set to work. The progress we have made is amazing and we are so very proud
One of our learning challenges this week was to say, write and fred talk the sound sin some words. Here we are undertaking the challenge. I am so proud of the way the children rose to the challenge and tried their very best.
We have also continued our number bond work but this week to 10. Wow! The children blew our socks off. All of these were written independently. Great work everyone. Why not impress your grown up and show them how we write number bonds to 5 and to 10. Remember the pattern ...
0 + 5 = 5
1 + 4 = 5
2 + 3 = 5
3 + 2 = 5
Can you work out the rest?
And finally, here is a little round up of other things we have enjoyed this week in Reception W
As we approach our final 2 weeks in Reception we will be revisiting all of the wonderful Julia Donaldson texts we have used this term and showcasing all of our learning in new and exciting ways. We cannot wait!!
Have a wonderful weekend
