Hello and welcome to this, our last blog of the Spring term. What a fabulous week it has been. Let's take a look at this weeks invitations to learn and play ![]()
In line with our learning about Spring we had a great time ordering numbers to 10 and beyond. We used this as a great opportunity to learn about odd and even numbers, what number is 1 more and 1 less than another number and a challenge of removing an egg and identifying the missing number. Well done everyone ![]()
In our phonics area we worked on identifying different objects on the spring watering cans and then writing them on whiteboards. A great activity for helping us with our sound recognition and letter formation ![]()
We have done a lot of great work in our funky finger area this week. We have loved playing a game of Pass the egg. We each had a peg and had to pass the egg as quickly as we could around the circle. Great time had by all ![]()
As a prelude to our Easter Bonnet parade we used our creative skills to make our own paper bonnet. We looked at lots of images that remind us of spring and then set to work. Look at us with our creations ![]()
Speaking of Easter bonnets this week we held our Easter bonnet parade. The creations were so fabulous and each and everyone of them were amazing to look at. The children were very proud of their efforts and rightly so ![]()
This week we have been practising our hold a sentence skill. We have been counting the number of words in our sentences, saying them out loud, trying our hardest to remember a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop. Look at our fabulous efforts.
On our return to school for the Summer term we will be focusing on the author Julia Donaldson. We will be exploring some of the fabulous stories she has written starting with the story of Spinderella, a lovely story about a spider who loves numbers and counting!
