This week we have been writing our own versions of Jack and the Beanstalk. We changed our plant, bad character and what was stolen. Our class version was Suzie and the Sunflower. See if you can read it together.
Suzie and the Sunflower.
Once there was a poor girl called Suzie. One day she sold her toys for magic beans. Her mum threw them out of the window and a super sunflower grew. Suzie climbed up it. At the top she met a wicked witch. She stole the witch’s magic piggy bank and dashed back down the beanstalk. Chop! Chop! Suzie’s mum cut it down. They were rich.
Maths
In maths this week we have started to learn our numbers to 50. We have been practising counting up to 50 starting from any number and looing at what the numbers look like. We have been making the numbers up to 50 using tens and ones. We have enjoyed playing the helicopter rescue game to help us with our number recognition. Science
In science this week we have been learning about animal diets. We have learnt the words carnivore, herbivore and omnivore and tried to sort animals by what they had to eat. There’s a little video about it here https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zk7h34j/articles/zjcq7nb
Topic
We were very excited about our topic this week. We have been making sandwiches! The children were brilliant at making their own sandwiches using the ingredients they had chosen. We then had a lovely picnic in class to enjoy our sandwiches and scones!
