11th May

Wow, it has been a short, but very busy week!

Well done to our superstar worker who won pupil of the week!

Thank you to the readers, your effort really is paying off!

Maths

This week we have been measuring lengths, we have learnt how to use rulers, tape measures, metre sticks and trundle wheels to measure mm, cm and m. We then used this knowledge to help us to estimate on Friday.

English

In English we have written a diary entry from the point of view of Miss Honey as she met Mr and Mrs Wormwood to tell them about Matilda. The children captured Miss Honey's feelings perfectly.

Science

TWO! TWO Science lessons! This week we looked at the results of our investigation into what plants need to grow well. From these results we wrote our conclusion. After that, we learnt about the water cycle within plants.

Topic

We compared Haigh Hall in the past to Haigh Hall in present day. There are lots of differences but also some similarities. Do you know any?

P.E

We continued working with Wigan Warriors, this week we learnt how to evade defenders by side stepping. We are a very agile bunch!

We are all very excited for our trip to Haigh Hall next week. If you haven't already brought in your slip and money, please can you do so as soon as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog.
