18th October

Welcome to our last blog of the half term!

Our first few weeks in year 2 have whizzed by because we have been so busy.

In English we wrote our own version of the story Zog. We thought of lots of different animals and what they might learn at school and put all our ideas into our own writing. Mrs Hannon was very impressed with the quality of our writing so early in the year!

In Science we carried out an investigation about hygiene and thought about why it is important to keep ourselves clean. We talked about germs and decided we could find out if we had germs on our hands by investigating. We got 3 pieces of bread, we passed the first piece round the class then put it in a bag. We then washed our hands and passed the second piece of bread round the class. After that we put a 3rd piece of bread in a bag without touching it. We predicted our dirty hands had most germs on so would turn the bread mouldiest. Check out our results after half term!

In Computing we have been making our own music using 'button base'. This week we recorded our music. Click on our names below to listen!

Well, that's all for this week and this half term.

We hope you all have a lovely week's rest and can't wait to see you back at school on Monday 28th October.
