Westfield Community School A beacon of hope (Ofsted)

26th November

Over the last two weeks we have focussed our learning around two texts.  First we looked at Going On a Bear Hunt.  We enjoyed exploring the different textures of grass, water, mud and thinking of ways to represent snow.

The children created some beautiful pictures related to the story.

The week after, we looked at a book called 'You Choose'.

This is a text which allows the children to answer questions about what they like.

We wrote the children's choices down in the form of a story and shared these at carpet time.

For example,

'Toby would go the desert if he could go anywhere in the world.  He would have Santa and a pirate in his family and live in a tall block of flats.  He would eat ice cream and cake and go to school on Santa's sleigh.  He would love to wear football boots and an astronaut suit.  He would sleep in a big bed with a dinosaur cover!'

We have also welcomed another child into the number 4 club!

Happy Birthday!
