Hi everyone!

What a busy week!

English

In English we have continued with our Gingerbread man story, but this time we have changed the Gingerbread man character. We now have very exciting stories to tell  about a Kit Kat Kid, Jaffa Cake Man, Jammy Dodger Girl and Shortbread Biscuit Boy!  Ask us who our character is and see if we can tell you our new version of the story.

Maths

We have been working on multiplication this week. Starting with making equal groups. We can now spot equal and unequal groups and count in 2s, 5s or 10s to find out how many altogether.

Science

In Science this week we have learnt about the functions of the different parts of the plants (root, stem, leaves, flower). Have a look at the video below and see if you can remember what job all the parts do. We also learnt that some plants are garden plants as they are planted and looked after by people and some plants are wild plants.

Topic

In topic this week we learnt about the equator and found out that the countries near to the equator tend to be warmer all year round and have different seasons to us. We packed a suitcase to visit hot place and a suitcase to visit a cold place (so we're ready to help!) and we labelled the equator, North Pole and South Pole on a map of the world.

Computing

We are continuing to use 2Create a Story on Purple Mash to make our own books all about us! We're adding backgrounds, drawing pictures, including animations and sounds! We're hoping to post them on the blog when they are finished.

Alps

This week we were looking at wild and garden plants in the alps. We spotted daisies, dandelions, nettles, buttercups and cow parsley.

Have a great bank holiday weekend!
