3rd November

Hello and welcome to our blog

English- This week we have been reading “The Stone Age Boy” all the children have thoroughly enjoyed it. We have predicted what the story might be about from looking at the front cover and then read and summarised the story.

Maths- The children have been working on x3 an x4 times tables. They have been trying hard to learn these and the associated division facts.

Topic- We have started our new Stone Age topic, so we recapped what we already know, (mostly from our class book in English) and then the children thought about what they would like to find out. They came up with suggestions such as:

how did Stone Age people communicate?

What foods other than meat did they eat and where did they get it from?

What were their homes like?

What clothes did they wear?

So, these questions will be the basis of our future lessons…... we are all excited to find out more about this topic.

Well done to Jack Parr who received the class certificate for being an all-round superstar. He was then chosen by Mrs Dougherty to receive the Pupil of the Week award for lower Key stage 2. Congratulations Jack.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday

From all the staff in Year 3
