9th December 2016

Hello and a very big welcome to our 3F Class Blog.

Our class ‘Pupil of the Week’ has been Casey for always doing her best work and persisting, even when she finds something difficult. Well done Casey! smileyno

In English this week, we have started to look at our new book ‘The Snowman’ by Raymond Briggs. It is an amazing wordless book about James, a young boy, and his snowman. We read the story and ordered the pictures, then watched the movie and described the setting. After that, we wrote our own character descriptions of the snowman.

One of our big highlights this week has been our visit to the cinema to watch ‘Trolls’. We all loved it and had a fantastic time. When we got back, we wrote some brilliant film reviews.

In Maths, we have begun our new unit on ‘Multiplication and Division’.  We have had great fun learning our times tables by playing lots of games. Have a look at some of the things we did …

Some of us are working on our 2s, 5s, and 10s; others are working on 2s, 4s and 8s.

The more practise we do of our tables the better we get at them and they make our Maths work much easier. Try to work on them each day at home, just for 10 minutes, it will make a massive difference and it’s great fun!

Topic this week was Art as we continued with our ‘Cave Paintings’ based on the idea of our favourite hobbies. We have now explored using different materials, namely pencil, chalk and painting. We also enjoyed viewing and discussing the work of other children in our class, thinking particularly about what we liked and why, then made suggestions about how others could be improved. Have a look…Can you guess some of our hobbies?

In French this week, we have continued with our counting, colours and ‘Days of the Week’. Some of the children are becoming real masters at this now…WOW!

We are all starting to get very excited now as we count down to Christmas.

Thank you for visit our blog and we hope you’ll join us again next week to see what we have been doing.

Have a great weekend,

From All in Class 3F
