Happy New Year & Welcome Back!
Maths
This week we have been learning how to multiply and divide by 3,4 & 8. We then began to multiply multiples of 10 by a single digit. We are ready to move onto multiplying two digit numbers by a one digit number.
English
We started the year by writing our own opening to a portal story, using images of tunnels as a stimulus. From this we looked at 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne. We answered comprehension questions to show our understanding. Following that, we began to gather vocabulary to describe a patch of waste ground.
Topic
Disaster struck our classroom this week! A natural disaster. Take a look at the photos below to see for yourselves. This was to mark the start of our new Geography topic, Volatile Earth!
Science
In Science this week we began to think about how things move. We discussed the use of forces. This triggered a discussion about different forces. We began think about things that we Pull, Push and Twist.
P.E
The focus for this half terms P.E is gymnastics. We started the unit by travelling along a bench in a variety of ways.
P.S.H.E
With a fresh year, comes a fresh start. We thought about New Years Resolutions for this year.
