Hello and welcome back to the Year 4 Blog. It's been another busy week here in Year 4. We've been working really hard all through the week.
In Science we have been considering the foods and drinks that we have and what these might do to our teeth. So we decided to set up an experiment to find out. Now, obviously we can't use our own teeth in the experiment as they are far too precious, so we used egg shells. Egg shells are similar to the enamel that we have on our teeth. Both teeth and egg shells contain calcium. We decided to place the shells into different liquids that we might drink. We chose -milk, fresh orange, cola, water, coffee. Now, we know which ones we prefer to drink, but would these be the best for our teeth?
Here's a few pictures from the experiment we have set up. We need to leave them a few days and then check what has happened to the shells. We'll post our results next time. Bye for now.
