Friday 10th March

Hello and welcome to our blog for this week. It has been a super week in 6W with lots of hard work going on coolcoolcool

Maths - This week in Maths it has been EXTREMELY busy. At the beginning of the week, the children continued their work on area and perimeter of shapes. Then, they moved on to calculating the volume of shapes. This involved multiplying the length by the width by the depth.

After that, the children have revised plotting co-ordinates on a grid as well as working out missing co-ordinates. As well as all this, the children have begun to investigate translating (moving) shapes and reflecting shapes across a mirror line. What a lot of maths this week!!!!

English - The children have enjoyed listening to a short story, which is a follow up to our previous class novel, called Olive's Army. They have learned that Sukie is to marry Ephraim and that Olive and Cliff are still evacuated at Budmouth Point. A body has washed up on the beach and the children have found it. Is it a German spy? Why does it have English papers on it in the name of Ephraim Pengilly? Will the wedding take place after Ephraim's arrest? You will need to ask your children what has happened to find out the answers.

Our certificate winner this week is Harrison who won for his effort in improving his arithmetic. What a superstar! yesyesyes

That's all for this week. Take care in the snow and make sure you wrap up warm. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
