Friday 11th May

Friday 11th May

Welcome to Year 5F’s blog for this week. It has been another busy week and the children have been working hard.

Maths – This week the children have been ordering numbers up to three decimal places from smallest to largest.

Take a look at this website which lets you have a go at ordering decimals for yourself…

English - The children have continued to look at the book called Tuesday by David Wiesner. This week they have used the pictures to imagine what the frogs might be thinking or saying and have created thought bubbles and speech bubbles for the frogs. Also, they have imagined a conversation between reporters and one of the people who saw the frogs floating past their window.

Science - This week the children have been using newton meters (or force meters) to measure the weight (in N) and the mass (in g or kg) of some classroom objects. They have then compared the measurements to see if there is a link between them.

Topic – This week the children have been looking at the features of mountains. They have drawn and labelled a mountain and all its features.

Here is our certificate winner for this week. She won for putting aside differences and concentrating on her work, resulting in making great progress this week. Well done from us all in 5F.

All that remains is to say goodbye for this week and to wish you a happy weekend.
