Hello and welcome!
This weeks pupil of the week received their award for a simply perfect week.
Maths
More fractions! We have been comparing fractions, then comparing fractions of amounts and solving word problems that use fractions. We finished the week by playing multiplication bingo. Why don't you have a go at home.
English
This weeks English focus has been SPAG and then balanced arguments. We started the week by learning about using possessive apostrophes with plurals. Following that, we learnt how to use a dictionary to check spellings. On Wednesday we learnt what a balanced argument is, then we planned one. On Thursday we wrote a balanced argument answering the question 'Should Fidget Spinners be banned in schools?'. When Friday came we wrote sentences from memory using all of the punctuation we had already learnt this year that were dictated by Mr Fletcher.
Science
We looked at the results from our investigation we set up last week. We found that plants need heat, light and water to grow healthily. In addition, we found that water helps the plants to grow taller, whilst the sun light gives the plant a healthy green colour. After that, we wrote a script for our TV show about Growing Healthy Plants.
Topic
This week we have learnt about the advantages and disadvantages of Haigh Hall becoming a hotel. After that, we wrote a balanced argument about Haigh Hall becoming a hotel.
PSHE
We spoke about concerns at playtime and how we can work together to overcome these concerns.
Thank you for reading,
Call back next week!
