Hello again,
it's been another busy week in Y6F, as always.
In English we have used our class novel (Letters from the Lighthouse) as inspiration for creative work. The children have drawn beautiful coloured pictures of the lighthouse that have been covered with tracing paper, on top of which are examples of wonderful descriptive writing. They have used a special sentence called an Imagine 3 which requires specific punctuation marks, including a colon. They're great!
In maths, we have introduced the vital skills of calculating short and long multiplication. We've used LBQ (ask the children) to consolidate and extend this and have done really well. On to the altogether trickier prospect of long division next week.
On Thursday, of course, we travelled to the Imperial War Museum. It was both fascinating and touching to see so many artifacts depicting the conflicts that have affected this country. Please check out a selection of the photographs of the day.
