In Maths, we have been learning how to measure using non standard units. We have been measuring length and height. We have compared the lengths and heights of different objects using the vocabulary taller, shorter and longer and shorter.
In English, we have been reading a new story by our Author of the Month, Oliver Jeffers. We have read the story 'How to Catch a Star.' In this story, a little boy decides that he wants a star of his very own! He tried to climb a tall tree, but he can't reach. He also tries to lasso it with a hoop, but he can't reach. We retold the story using our story map.
In Topic, we have been learning about Helen Sharman. She was the first British female to go to Space. She won a competition on the radio.
In Science, we have been performing fair test experiments, like Helen did. We have been looking at materials that absorb water the best.
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Lodge and Mrs Duckworth.
