Friday 13th May

Welcome to 3F's blog!

This weeks star pupil was Layton for his exceptional behaviour and attitude inside and outside the classroom. He has been a treat to teach this week.

A big well done to our star readers for their continuous effort in reading at home. These people are KJ, Ethan, Callum, Scarlett, Layton, Teigan, Maddison and Anmol. Well done guys, keep it up.

Maths

This week we have finished looking at fractions. We are all fraction kings now, we can solve any problem that involves fractions!

English

This week in English we have been looking at the book 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne. We started the week by predicting where the tunnel leads to and what will happen, After that we chose which character we wanted to describe, we could choose between Jack or Rose. We wrote about their appearance and behaviour, some of our descriptions blew Mr Fletchers socks off! On Thursday we answered comprehension questions about the book and finished the week off by looking at fronted adverbials.

Topic

We used the computers to find our own facts about Haigh Hall. Did you know Haigh Hall was used during the world wars to care for injured soldiers.

R.E

We were intrigued by what we learnt in R.E. We looked at the sightings of Jesus since his passing.

Science

Last week we were chefs, this week we have been gardeners. We have planned and set up our investigation looking at what conditions are best to grow plants. Some of us chose to investigate whether a plant can grow without light, some without water and some without heat.
