Where has this week gone?
What have we been up to? Well....
Maths
We have continued to focus on place value of 3 digit numbers! We started the week by representing 3 digit numbers in different ways. After that, we were finding 1, 10 & 100 more/less than a given number. We are now 3 digit place value wizards.
English
On Monday we had a SPAG lesson refreshing our memory of how to correctly punctuate sentences. On Tuesday, we began to learn our model next about an angry/lonely giant who moves next door to a family. Following that, we began to box the story up. On Friday we wrote the story for ourselves.
Science
We continued to look at the different foods and thought about whether they were healthy and unhealthy. Then, we thought about what humans need to survive. We decided that humans need a skeleton for shape, to be able to move and to protect our vital organs. We then labelled some of the bones that make up our skeleton.
Topic
We focused this week on the Seven man-made Wonders Of The World. We located and labelled them on a world map. Then we chose a World Wonder and began to make an informative poster about it.
Computing
We set up and began to make our blogs about the Seven Wonders of the World. When they are finished you will all be able to check them out!
P.E
This week we worked on throwing and catching. We had to choose from a variety of pieces of equipment and we were encouraged to challenge ourselves by picking the things that were the most difficult to catch.
P.S.H.E
We thought about staying safe and how we can stay safe. We had a discussion about staying safe on the roads, at home, in school and online. We focused closely on how we are kept safe in school and how we can keep others safe in school.
Music
We had our first music lesson with Mr Grimshaw, our new music teacher. We began to learn how to play the African Drums. It was loud, but lots of fun!
We also met our teachers who help us on a Monday. They teach us French and R.E
