Friday 14th October 2016

Congratulations to Duncan this week for getting Y4W award in assembly, for scoring a hat-trick in his first football match and getting a well deserved Man of the Match to boot!

Y4 have been working on a selection of poetry this week with a particular focus on prepositions and prepositional phrases. We have also been reading a Carl Warner poem aloud using an appropriate tone in our voice. It is about a chocolate train and we think you'll be impressed.

We will be performing more like this in our Y4 assembly next week.

We have also thoroughly enjoyed the Book Fair being in school this week. Y4 and Y2 took part in some paired reading on Tuesday and shared our favourite books from the fair with each other.

In Maths, we have been trying to impress Miss Whittle with our column addition and she has been blown away! We are going to do the same with column subtraction next week.

Next Wednesday is our special Y4 assembly. We have decided to showcase some of the poetry work we have done recently and share some of the fabulous foodscapes created by Carl Warner. Prepare to be amazed...

We had our first practice today and for a first go it went very well indeed.

We do hope that lots of you will find the time to come and watch your child perform and maybe even join in with the singing.

A big thanks to all those children who have chosen to do the extra work at home. It is all valued and has pride of place on the display board over my desk. Keep them coming in!

Finally, I look forward to meeting all of you coming to Parents' Evening on either Tuesday or Thursday next week.
